Medical and Dental Council
By virtue of the MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONER ACT 2010 the Medical & Dental Councils preserves its status. Each Council consists of 9 members. 3 members from each Council make up the Board of Management that governs the administration of the Secretariat. Each Council has a Professional Standards & Professional Conducts committee that assists the Council in execution of its function.
Fiji Medical Council
The Medical Council consists of Permanent Secretary for Health, Deputy Secretary, registered practitioners elected by medical practitioners, vocational practitioners, representative of Fiji Medical Association, representative of the Fiji College of General Practitioners, Dean of the School of Medicine from the Fiji National University & Umanand School of Medicine.
Fiji Dental Council
The Dental Council consists of Permanent Secretary for Health, National Advisor Oral Health & practitioners elected by elected by dental practitioners, vocational practitioners, representative of Fiji Dental Association, Dean of the School of Medicine from the Fiji National University & Umanand School of Medicine.
